About me
Born and raised among the greenhouses in the municipality of Westland, I finished my high school in The Hague. In the year of 2021, I graduated with honors from Leiden University in the field of Japanese Studies (BA), with my specialization being linguistics. During my years as a student, I had the chance to go to Japan many times and currently I have visited 34 of the 47 Japanese prefectures, ranging from Hokkaido in the North to Okinawa in the South. Furthermore, I have been on exchange to Okayama University and Kyoto University, during which I lived in both cities respectively. After my graduation, I worked as a Coordinator for International Relations at the city hall of Hirado City, located in Nagasaki prefecture, where I worked together with hundreds of Japanese government workers.

By doing so, I have become well-acquainted with a wide array of aspects of Japanese society and gained full command of the Japanese language, both spoken and written. Over the years I have gained a wide range of experience in interpretation, translation, public speaking and guiding delegations, both in the Netherlands and in Japan. My passion for the Japanese language and culture has always remained with me; putting my knowledge into practice to help and bring people closer together is something that brings me a lot of joy.
